Terms of Service

Welcome to Natively. Natively is a mobile app for practising spoken English with an AI language assistant named Nora. By creating an account, starting a subscription, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Natively.

Your use of the iOS app and purchases made through it are also subject to Apple's applicable App Store terms. We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date above and, where appropriate, give notice in the app before a material change takes effect.

Who can use Natively

You may use Natively if you are at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these terms where you live. If you are under the age of majority, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you and consent where required.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You must provide accurate information, keep access to your sign-in account secure, and use only your own account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been used without permission.

Subscriptions, trials, and billing

Natively offers weekly, monthly, and annual auto-renewable subscriptions. The price, billing period, any introductory trial, and the date billing begins are shown by the App Store before you confirm a purchase. Prices and offer availability may vary by country, currency, tax, and App Store account.

Introductory trials are available only to eligible users, as determined by Apple. Unless you cancel before the trial or current billing period ends, your subscription automatically renews and your App Store account is charged the price shown at purchase. Apple manages billing, cancellations, and refund requests under its rules and applicable law.

You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple account settings. Deleting Natively or deleting your Natively account does not cancel an App Store subscription. After cancellation, paid access normally continues until the end of the paid period. You can use Restore Purchase in the app to restore an eligible purchase associated with your App Store account.

Usage allowances and fair use

A subscription gives you access to paid features subject to the daily, monthly, and trial-period AI and speech allowances applied to your account. These safeguards keep the service reliable and sustainable; a subscription does not provide unlimited automated processing. If the premium text-to-speech allowance is reached, the app may offer an on-device voice so practice can continue.

We may adjust allowances prospectively as the service changes. We will give notice when a material change affects normal use. Attempts to evade limits, automate excessive requests, share access, or interfere with metering may result in restricted or suspended access.

Practice content and AI

Nora is an automated assistant. Responses, translations, hints, corrections, assessments, and scores are generated or assisted by AI and can be incomplete, inappropriate, or wrong. They are for language practice only and do not guarantee fluency, certification, academic credit, or a particular result.

Natively does not provide professional, medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice. Do not rely on the app for important decisions or submit sensitive information that is unnecessary for language practice.

Your content

You keep any rights you have in words, recordings, or other content you submit. You give Natively limited permission to host, transmit, process, reproduce, and analyse it only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except for temporary technical copies and records we are legally required or reasonably need to retain.

You must have the right to submit your content. Do not submit unlawful, harmful, abusive, infringing, or highly sensitive material, or another person's voice or personal information without permission.

Using the app responsibly

Natively is for personal, non-commercial language practice. Do not probe or bypass its security or limits, reverse-engineer it except where law permits, disrupt other users, use automated extraction, or use it to violate the law or anyone's rights.

Our content and software

Natively's software, design, lessons, branding, and other service content are owned by us or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app while you comply with these terms. No other rights are granted.

Availability, suspension, and deletion

We work to keep Natively available, but AI providers, app stores, networks, and hosting services can fail or change. We may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue features, and may restrict or terminate an account that violates these terms, threatens the service, or exposes us or others to harm.

You may delete your Natively account from the profile screen. Account deletion is separate from cancelling a subscription and does not itself stop App Store billing.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, Natively is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded where you live.
